- Diagnosis.
- Check the quality of the hair to make sure it is in good condition before carrying out the Revlon Professional LASTING SHAPE™ SMOOTH service. Review service records (color, perms, bleaching, etc.) in order to choose the most appropriate LASTING SHAPE™ SMOOTH cream depending on the client’s hair type. In case of doubt, choose the mildest cream.
- Select the look that best suits your client.
- Wash the hair.
- Shampoo with a neutral shampoo, towel dry hair and comb carefully.
- Do not massage the scalp.
- Application of LASTING SHAPE™ SMOOTH Hair Smoothing Cream.
- Divide the hair into four sections.
- Place the smoothing cream into a non-metallic bowl.
- Beginning at the nape of the neck, use a color brush to apply the Smoothing Cream rapidly section by section along the lengths of the hair without soaking it. Avoid the scalp, leaving a margin of 1-2 cm.
- Ensure the cream is distributed evenly throughout the hair.
- If necessary, massage the hair well with your hands while keeping it straight
- If the hair has been straightened previously, apply only to the regrowth area.
- Rinsing.
- Rinse the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water for 5 minutes to ensure the product is completely removed
- It is important the hair remains straight and flat during the process. Towel dry.
- Drying and Ironing.
- For volume reduction services, proceed directly to step 7 without drying or ironing the hair.
- For the Lasting Smooth look or a Japanese Bob-Straight, dry the hair with the fingers and use an iron. The iron must be set at 180ºC and glide along each strand in a slow and continuous motion.
- Application of Lasting Shape™ Smooth Neutralizing Cream Depending on the desired result apply Neutralizing Cream on towel dried hair or on flat-ironed hair.
- Divide the hair into 4 equal sections.
- Apply the neutralizing cream
- Begin applying the neutralizing cream on the nape area.
- Comb the hair while applying.
- Ensure the neutralizing cream is well distributed throughout the hair.
- Keep the hair straight at all times.
- Leave to process for 10 minutes.
- Rinsing.
- Rinse the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water for 5 minutes to ensure the product is completely removed. Towel dry.
- Finish:
- Apply STYLE MASTERS™, IRON GUARD™ or LISSAVER™ or MAGNET™ Ultimate Reparative Melting Balm before drying and straightening with a flat iron to give the hair the desired texture.
- Do not pull, tangle or knead the hair.
- Use the hair dryer and the flat irons to style the hair as desired.
