Each year a trend-defining shade has set  the tone for salons globally. These shades reflect Revlon Professional’s commitment to staying ahead of trends. Drawing from expert opinions, global influences, and 2026 forecasts, the COY shades are a testament to the art and science of color. Let’s take a look back at the previous shades.

2023 Hair Color of the Year

Revlon Professional’s Hair Color of the Year 2023 was Virtual Mauve Blonde 8.222, a vibrant, multidimensional color. Chosen through a global co-creation process involving 1,500 professional colorists from 26 countries, the shade was selected during a live vote at the May 2022 Front Row Summit™. This marked Revlon Professional’s first collaborative initiative to merge expert insight with innovative hair color technology.

The winning shade, part of the Revlonissimo Colorsmetique™ range, features triple-reflect pigments and the KER-HA Complex™—a blend of hyaluronic acid, phyto-keratin, antioxidants, and a shine sealer—for lasting vibrancy, moisture, and a mirror-like finish. The result was a forward-thinking color that set the tone for hair trends in 2023.

2024 Hair Color of the Year

The journey began during the second edition of the Front Row Summit™ held in Mallorca. Guided by the visionary Miquel Garcia, VP of Global Creative, and supported by brand Ambassadors Emmanuel Esteban, Rafael Bueno, and Robert Masciave, 88.44 Revlonissimo Colorsmetique™ Electric Copper Blonde was revealed after being chosen through the synergy of Artificial Intelligence and industry expertise. The result? A shade that ushered in a new era of electrifying hair color. It was a bold, dynamic statement that combined science and beauty to step further into augmented color reality.

2025 Hair Color of the Year

In 2025, 8.18 Immersive Nude Blonde was introduced—a deeper ash blonde that brought a new dimension to professional hair color. Designed to complement a wide range of skin tones and eye colors, it quickly became the most versatile shade of the year. Immersive Nude Blonde draws you into a new tonal experience. It is a sophisticated blonde with neutral chromatic brown undertones, subtly balanced by delicate cool hues. This new color personality offered both depth and luminosity, redefining modern blonde.
